Pareira Brava

► Almost cartilaginous induration of mucous membrane of bladder. ► Constant urging to urinate, violent pain in glans penis ; straining ; pain extorts screams ; must get down on all fours to urinate ; urine contains much viscid, thick, white mucus or deposits a red sand. ► Pains down the thighs during efforts at urination. ► Urine has a strong ammoniacal odor.

► Compare with Chimaphila, Uva ursi (spasm and burning in bladder, ropy urine), Hydrangea arb., Berber. (latter has pains more in back and hips, and has a yellow, loamy sediment).
